Poxet 30 (Dapoxetine) is a medicine used specifically for treating PE (premature ejaculation) in adult men. It works by acting on serotonin so as to enhance the ejaculation delay. Premature ejaculation is a quite common sexual disorder which affects men. This condition is generally defined as the failure to exercise control over ejaculation or persistent ejaculation occurring before or just after penetration against the wishes of the patient.

As a result of this, the patient may experience significant personal distress and negative psychological effects. This medicine was first developed as an antidepressant, and it belongs to the SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) class of medicines, meaning that it is similar to other drugs used for depression. However, it was found to work for PE, and due to the fact that it is quickly absorbed and eliminated by the body, it is considered unsuitable for treating depression but well suited as a premature ejaculation treatment.

By inhibiting the neuronal reuptake of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain and potentiating its action at the receptors it acts on, it is able to affect the ejaculatory reflex, allowing for an increase in intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (the duration it takes to ejaculate).

Dosage and Administration
Poxet 30 (Dapoxetine) comes in tablet form. Each one contains 30mg of the active ingredient and should be administered by mouth with a glass of water. Following a medical examination, your doctor will decide whether or not this medicine is safe and suitable for you. Adults are usually told to start out with 30mg, administered 1 to 3 hours before intercourse. If 30mg does not prove effective, see your doctor. It is possible that your dosage may be adjusted to 60mg per day. However, patients must not take more than one dose in every 24 hour period.

Side effects
Side effects which may occur after taking Poxet 30 (Dapoxetine) include:

  • Vertigo
  • Sleep problems
  • Blurring of eyesight
  • Sickness or stomach discomfort
  • Low sex drive or erectile problems

Make sure that you inform the doctor of all side effects that occur during treatment. Other reactions are also possible, and some of these could be serious. Get medical help straight away if you suffer from sudden dizziness or drowsiness, depression, visual problems or any other severe reactions that have not been listed here.

Precautions
This medication is not suitable in use for men suffering from ED (erectile dysfunction) who are taking certain medicines to treat their ED. Talk to your doctor about this before starting treatment.

Patients who are affected by or who have suffered from bipolar disorder should not take this medicine.

Always use Poxet 30 (Dapoxetine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
